Summary

The Center for Global Law and Strategy, affiliated with Renmin Law and Technology Institute , is dedicated to advancing and promoting theoretical and historical research in international law and strategy. Since its establishment in March 2019, the center has organized a significant number of academic activities, inviting scholars from both domestic and international backgrounds to participate.

In its third year, the center has nearly doubled its previous year's workload. In 2021, it hosted 27 online academic events, averaging one event every 8.8 days in an academic year of 34 weeks. These events featured 205 scholars from around the world, attracting an audience of more than 6,000 participants. Additionally, the center co-organized two conferences.

Throughout 2021, the center continued its established activities and explored new avenues. Annual lectures and workshops were conducted at the beginning and end of the year, each focusing on themes related to internationalism, globalization, and global order. In collaboration with Peking University's Institute of Regional and National Studies, the center elevated its activities, furthering its mission. The center also organized 12 Global Legal and Strategic Roundtables, focusing on recent international legal judgments and diplomatic practices. A Global Legal and Strategic Workshop was held to discuss Kellogg's international legal theories, and a Young Scholar Workshop was organized, evaluating outstanding undergraduate and graduate theses from various universities.

In 2021, the center embarked on two new directions. They introduced a series of summer lectures on global law and strategy, with Professor Dino Kritsiotis from the University of Nottingham leading a seminar on the history of international law. The center also initiated the Global Law and Strategy Research Program, collaborating with 18 young scholars to analyze the strategic competition legislation proposal in the United States Senate.

The center's activities received enthusiastic support from students, scholars, government officials, businesses, and various sectors of society, both within and beyond China. The center is grateful for the recognition and encouragement it has received. It acknowledges the role of China's effective COVID-19 prevention and control measures in providing a peaceful academic environment. With a small operational team, the center is thankful for the strong support and resources provided by Renmin University of China's Law School and the Institute for Future Rule of Law, which enabled it to maintain a high frequency of events.

The center's growth is also indebted to other institutions, journals, and public platforms that have generously supported its outreach efforts. The center is appreciative of the support and affection from teachers, students, and friends. As the year comes to an end, the center extends its heartfelt gratitude to all.

As we look forward to a new year, we recognize the unprecedented international challenges China faces. This responsibility cannot be ignored, and scholars must strive to find answers to the pressing issues of our time. Let us embark on this journey together with a sense of purpose and resolve. Happy New Year!
