Representatives from our institute attended the first China-Brazil Legal Seminar in Brazil.
time:2025-03-30On March 11-12, 2025, legal experts from Chinese and Brazilian universities, along with representatives from judicial practice, gathered at Brazil's Superior Court of Justice for the first China-Brazil Legal Seminar. Attendees included Chinese Ambassador to Brazil Zhu Qingqiao, Brazilian Minister of Education Camilo Santana, Brazilian Deputy Foreign Minister Eduardo Saboia, President of Brazil's Supreme Federal Court Luís Roberto Barroso, and President of Brazil's Superior Court of Justice Antônio Carlos Benchimol.
Representatives from Renmin University of China Law School, including Zhang Jiyu, Executive Director of the Institute of Future Rule of Law at Renmin University of China, were invited to attend the seminar. Zhang delivered a keynote speech on the rule of law in artificial intelligence and engaged in in-depth discussions with scholars from the University of São Paulo Law School, Rio de Janeiro State University Law School, University of Brasília Law School, and the Brazilian Institute for Educational Development and Research (IDP), among others.
During the conference, participating law schools from China and Brazil, together with Brazil's Superior Court of Justice, jointly signed the "Letter of Intent for the Establishment of the China-Brazil Law School Alliance," marking the official launch of the China-Brazil Law School Alliance
