Forum Review | The First Digital Rule of Law Forum Successfully Held at the Gao Mingxuan Academic Hall

On October 20, 2024, the First Digital Rule of Law Forum, guided by China Law Society Cyber and Information Law Society, hosted by Renmin University of China Law School, and co-organized by the Renmin Law and Technology Institute,Teaching and Research Center for Digital Law of Renmin University of China Law School, the Gao Mingxuan Academic Hall, and Zhejiang Supor Co., Ltd., was successfully held at the Gao Mingxuan Academic Hall in Yuhuan City, Zhejiang Province. More than forty experts and scholars from administrative agencies, courts, universities, research institutions, and enterprises attended the forum.

The opening ceremony was moderated by Associate Professor Zhang Jiyu of Renmin University of China Law School, Executive Dean of the Renmin Law and Technology Institute. Remarks were delivered by Jiang Wei, Vice President of the China Law Society, President of China Law Society Cyber and Information Law Society, and Deputy Director of the Advisory Committee of the Supreme People’s Court; Ying Shuhua, Deputy Secretary of the Yuhuan Municipal CPC Committee and Secretary of the Political and Legal Affairs Commission; Professor Wang Xiumei, Vice Dean of the College for Criminal Law Science of Beijing Normal University, Director of the G20 Anti-Corruption Fugitive Repatriation and Asset Recovery Research Center, and Director of the Gao Mingxuan Academic Hall; and Professor Huang Wenyi of Renmin University of China Law School.

The forum also held the unveiling ceremonies of the “Talent Training Education Base of Jilin University School of Law” and the “Talent Training Education Base of Southwest University of Political Science and Law”. Director Wang Xiumei and Professor Zhang Jie, Party Secretary of Jilin University Law School, jointly unveiled the “Talent Training Education Base of Jilin University School of Law”. Director Wang Xiumei and Professor Zhang Jixi, Deputy Party Secretary and Dean of Southwest University of Political Science and Law Law School, jointly unveiled the “Talent Training Education Base of Southwest University of Political Science and Law”.

The forum was organized into four panels: “Deepening Comprehensive Reforms and Improving Digital Rule of Law Construction”, “Corporate Digital Governance Construction and Practical Development”, “Developing New Quality Productive Forces and the Intellectual Property System”, and “Rights Protection and Platform Responsibility in the Digital Age”. More than forty experts and scholars participated in the discussions across the panels. Finally, Associate Professor Zhang Jiyu, Executive Dean of the Renmin Law and Technology Institute, delivered a concluding speech, bringing the forum to a successful close.
