2024 World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit:The Forum on Cyberspace Rule of Law was Successfully Held
time:2024-11-27On November 21, the Forum on Cyberspace Rule of Law in AI Age of 2024 World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit was successfully held in Wuzhen, Zhejiang Province. Yang Jianwen, Vice Minister of Cyberspace Administration of China, Hu Wei, Vice Governor of Zhejiang Province, and Lin Shangli, President of Renmin University of China, attended the forum and delivered remarks. Wang Hongxiang, Secretary of the CPC Committee of the China Law Society and Vice-Chairman of the Constitution and Law Committee of the National People's Congress, delivered a keynote speech. Jia Yu, President of Shanghai High People's Court, and Jiang Wei, Vice President of China Law Society, attended the forum and exchanged views.
The forum is themed “Cyberspace Rule of Law in AI Age”, and includes three core topics: “30-year Development of Cyberspace Rule of Law in China and the Prospects for Global Cyberspace Rule of Law”, “Rule of Law Challenges and Data Protection in AI Age” and “Global Artificial Intelligence Regulatory Frameworks”. Participants comprehensively reviewed China’s 30-year history of cyberspace rule of law, discussed in depth how to construct an effective personal information and data framework in the age of AI, and exchanged views extensively on how to develop scientific and reasonable AI regulatory rules. The forum reached consensus on strengthening the construction of cyberspace rule of law, international exchanges and multi-party collaboration in AI age, advocating for the active construction of an open, fair and effective cyberspace governance mechanism to ensure the safe, controllable and sustainable development of artificial intelligence technology.
The forum was hosted by Renmin University of China, with cooperation from the Law School of Renmin University of China and JD.com. Experts and scholars from government departments, universities and research institutes at home and abroad, representatives from Internet companies, media reporters and other distinguished guests from various sectors attended the forum.
