On March 27, 2024, James Pooley, former Deputy Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and former President of the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA), was invited to give a keynote speech on the topic of 'Trade Secrets - Information Asset Management in the Era of the Internet and Artificial Intelligence' in Room 1009 of the Lide Building at Renmin University of China. Professor Pooley, an internationally renowned expert in trade secret law, has been serving as a part-time professor at the Intellectual Property School of Renmin University of China since 2011.

This event was jointly organized by the Law School, Intellectual Property School, and the Renmin Law and Technology Institute. Associate Professor and Executive Dean of the Renmin Law and Technology Institute, Zhang Jiyu, Senior Partner of Beijing Jincheng Tongda Law Firm, Wang Jin, Senior Partner of Beijing Tianchi Juntai Law Firm, Liu Fang, Partner of Beijing Tianchi Juntai Law Firm, Kou Haixia, Partner of Beijing Tianchi Juntai Law Firm, Meng Rui, and Deputy Senior Prosecutor of the Intellectual Property Prosecution Office of the Supreme People's Procuratorate, Yang Jianjun, attended the lecture and participated in the discussion. The lecture was presided over by Professor Jin Haijun from the Law School of Renmin University of China.
