The event brought together stakeholders from multiple regions across Asia and Europe to share practical experiences in promoting road safety. It fostered multi-stakeholder dialogue and collaboration to strengthen commitments towards building safer road transport systems and discussed how to address the challenges posed by emerging technologies—such as Automated Driving Systems (ADS), connected vehicles, and cybersecurity—to road safety concepts.Professor Wang Ying from the Renmin Law and Technology Institute, invited as an academic expert by the UN Global Forum for Road Traffic Safety (WP.1), participated in Special Session I. She delivered a thematic report on China's autonomous driving development and legal regulation, and introduced conference delegates to China's progress and regulatory experiences in areas such as autonomous vehicle road testing and demonstration applications.
