Abstract

Amid the rapid digital transformation and upgrading of contemporary human rights, digital human rights have emerged as a new category within the human rights system of the digital age. One of the primary challenges in safeguarding human rights in this context lies in the fast-growing and expanding digital power, particularly the power exercised by digital platforms. Platform power has become a significant threat to the effective protection of digital human rights. To ensure robust protection, it is essential to ground governance in the preservation of fundamental human values and dignity, while strengthening legal regulation over the excessive expansion of platform power. In particular, in light of the new characteristics of governance in the digital era, greater emphasis should be placed on the regulatory and governance functions of public authority in addressing platform power.
