The Fifth International Conference on the Future Rule of Law and Digital Law Successfully Held

The Fifth International Conference on the Future Rule of Law and Digital Law was successfully held on November 2-3, 2024, hosted by the Law School of Renmin University of China, the Center for Jurisprudence Research of Jilin University and JD.com, and organized by the Law and Technology Institute of Renmin University of China, the Center for Jurisprudence Research of Jilin University, the JD Legal Research Institute, and the Collaborative Innovation Center of Judicial Civilization. More than two hundred experts and scholars at home and abroad from legislative organs, administrative organs, courts, colleges and universities, scientific research institutions and enterprises came to the conference site to participate in the forum.

Jiang Wei, Vice President of China Law Society, President of China Law Society Cyber and Information Law Society, and Deputy Chairman of the Supreme People's Court Advisory Committee, Zheng Shuiquan, Vice Secretary of the Party Committee of Renmin University of China, Han Xiping, Vice Secretary of the Party Committee of Jilin University, Hu Huangang, Vice President of JD.com, and Wang Yi, Vice Secretary of the Party Committee of People's Public Security University of China, President of People's Public Security University of China, made speeches in the opening ceremony. The opening ceremony was hosted by Huang Wenyi, Professor of the Law School of Renmin University of China and Chief Editor of China Legal Science Journal.

The forum is divided into six units, keynote speech, deans’ panel discussion, theoretical development of digital jurisprudence, cutting-edge exploration of the future rule of law, digital economy development and the legal guarantee, digital platform and artificial intelligence governance. More than seventy experts and scholars from China, the United States, the United Kingdom, Denmark and other countries and regions participated in the discussions of each unit. Finally, this forum was chaired by Ding Xiaodong, Professor of the Law School of Renmin University of China and Vice Director of Law and Technology Institute of Renmin University of China, and Zhang Jiyu, Associate Professor of the Law School of Renmin University of China and Executive Director of Law and Technology Institute of Renmin University of China, Liu Hongzhen, Professor of the Law School of Jilin University and Deputy Director of Center for Jurisprudence Research in Jilin University, and Li Li, Executive Director of JD Legal Research Institute, made a summing up speech, and this forum was successfully closed.
